Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: February 11, 2026

The short version

Some of the links on HeronCalc are affiliate links. This means if you click on a link and sign up for a product or service, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the site running and the calculators free. We only recommend products we believe are genuinely useful. Affiliate relationships never influence our calculator results.

How We Make Money

HeronCalc is a free resource. We don't charge for our calculators, and we don't require you to create an account. To keep the Site running and free to use, we earn revenue in two ways:

  • Affiliate commissions — When we link to financial products or services (such as mortgage lenders, savings accounts, credit cards, or investment platforms) and you click through and take a qualifying action (such as opening an account or getting approved), we may earn a commission from the provider. This costs you nothing extra.
  • Display advertising — We may display advertisements on the Site through advertising networks. These ads are served by third-party ad platforms and generate revenue based on impressions or clicks.

What This Means for You

Our affiliate relationships do not affect:

  • Calculator results — Our calculators use standard financial formulas and publicly available data (such as FRED API rates). The math doesn't change based on who pays us. A mortgage payment calculation gives you the same answer whether or not we have an affiliate relationship with the lender.
  • The price you pay — You will never pay more for a product or service because you clicked an affiliate link on our Site. In many cases, affiliate links provide the same offers (or better) than going directly to the provider.
  • Our editorial judgment — We choose which products and services to mention based on their relevance and quality, not based on commission rates. We regularly feature products from companies we have no affiliate relationship with.

How to Identify Affiliate Links

Affiliate links on the Site are typically marked in one or more of the following ways:

  • Links that route through /go/ paths (e.g., heroncalc.com/go/provider-name)
  • Links labeled with "Partner" or "Sponsored" tags
  • Comparison tables or product recommendations with "Check Rate" or "Apply Now" buttons

Affiliate links use the rel="nofollow sponsored" attribute in accordance with search engine guidelines.

Our Affiliate Partners

We may participate in affiliate programs operated by various networks and financial institutions, including but not limited to:

  • ShareASale / Awin
  • FlexOffers
  • CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction)
  • Impact

The specific partners may change over time as we add or remove relationships.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255). We believe in full transparency about how we earn money and are committed to honest, unbiased content.

In addition to this page, we include inline disclosure notices on pages where affiliate links appear, so you're always aware of the relationship before clicking.
